ANTONY SET’S NEW CLUB RECORD AS MANCHESTER UNITED BEAT EVERTON 2-1 AT GOODISON PARK
At Goodison Park on Sunday night, Manchester United winger Antony broke a club record by scoring against Everton.
After Alex Iwobi had given the hosts the lead with a similarly spectacular shot early on, the Brazilian winger equalized on Merseyside with a stunning, sweeping finish. Only academy graduate Marcus Rashford has scored more goals for the team this season than Antony, who netted his third goal since joining for more than £70 million from Eredivisie giants Ajax in the summer.
While the strike extended his impressive run of play since joining the Red Devils at Old Trafford, it also shattered a long-standing Red Devils record.
In fact, Antony became the first player for United to score in their first three Premier League games. He scored in the Red Devils’ victory over Arsenal on his debut and also in the most recent humiliating 6-3 loss to fierce rivals Manchester City.
He will undoubtedly strive to improve upon it when Erik ten Hag’s team returns to league play next weekend against a hot-handed Newcastle United.

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of United, has nothing but admiration for his new teammate’s adjustment to life in England. After the game at Goodison Park ended, the Portuguese spoke to BT Sport and remarked, “He’s [Antony] a terrific player. We were aware of his qualities, which is why the club
