CELEBRATION OF LIFE: TEARS, MUCH FANFARE, AS IGWE SUNDAY NWOBODO’S MOTHER , LOLO REBECCA OBIGARIAKU REUNITES WITH HER ANCESTORS AT 85
The Queen Mother, affectionately known as ‘Nne Ora’, was born in 1937 and died in 2022 at the age of 85, after a short illness.
Announcing the glorious call to the homeland and the passing of their mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and daughter, Lolo Rebecca Obigaeriaku Nwobodo, the family of the great hero, the late Nze Samuel Nwobodo, represented by one of his sons, Grand Chief James Nwobodo, in a statement to reporters, said their mother, a devout Christian, would be buried Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her residence in Umuisu.
According to the funeral plan, Nne Igwe’s body will leave East Enugu Medical Center in a convoy at 6 a.m. on December 28 for his hometown, Umuisu Uglawka. At 7 a.m. his remains will be interred at the Royal Palace, Palace of Peace Garden, Umuisu, where Mass will be celebrated in his honor. The funeral will take place immediately after Mass which begins at 8 a.m.
However, there will be a Christian revival and chanting ceremony on December 27, with a vigil at 5:30 p.m., at the Royal Court, Peace Garden Palace.
