Husband Burned His Wife Alive Because She Washed His Clothes Instead Of Giving Him Food

Phryde Media reported that a 46-year-old man identified as Hassan Azeez was arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command, for allegedly dousing his wife with gasoline and setting it on fire.
A statement released by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokesman for the State Police Command, said the suspect was arrested following a report submitted at Ibogun Division Headquarters by the victim’s father, according to which On October 22, 2022, her daughter, Olayinka Hassan, was caught burning her husband over a minor disagreement, and the victim, a mother of one, was taken to a hospital in Ibadan.
“After receiving the report, the Ibogun DPO department, CSP Samuel Oladele quickly mobilized his people and arrived on the scene. But before getting there, the suspect escaped.
Since then, police officers have tracked him down until January 22, when he was finally arrested.
“During the interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had fled to the Republic of Benin and confessed to having committed a crime but attributed it to the devil.
“According to him, he told the victim to prepare food for him, but instead of the victim cooking for him, she was busy washing clothes.
He said he was angry with hunger and discomfort that he poured gasoline on her and set her on fire. When asked what clothes the woman was washing, he confessed it was hers,” Oyeyemi said.
The suspect has been referred to the Homicide Division of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
