INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO REMOVAL OF ONE EYE FROM 12-YRS-OLD BOY
BAUCHI STATE POLICE Command has launched an investigation into the removal of one eye from a 12-year-old boy suspected of being a ritualist in Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa County, the state.
Command spokesman SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday 13 December 2022, saying the victim, Najib Hussaini, is from Kano state and is an Almajiri.
According to PPRO, two of his unidentified men on a motorcycle lured the minor into a bush in a remote village and ripped out his right eye, leaving it in a pool of blood.
“The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Aminu Al-Hasan has ordered a careful investigation into the incident in which a 12-year-old boy was stolen in Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa LGA, Bauchi State,” the statement said.
His 12-year-old Najib Hussaini from Kano State was attending Quran (Almajiranci) training in Kafin Madaki when the incident occurred around 2:00 am on December 9, 2022. : At midnight he had an incident in Unguwar Yamma, not far from the victim’s school (Tsangaya).
“It was revealed that two unidentified motorcyclists (Bajaj) lured the victim to a nearby house and tried to get him to call Wakili, a woman from the same village. After being pulled out and left in a pool of blood, his colleagues rushed him to a teacher.The victim was taken to Abubakar Tafawa Barewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi (ATBUTH), where a serious and careful investigation was initiated.
“Bauchi State Police Commissioner AMINU ALHASSAN(+) urged the public to stay safe and report strangers and suspicious movements in the community. I have assured him that he will be arrested immediately.”
