IS KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY (KSU) BETTER THAN FULOKOJA (FUL) – FUL VS KSU
Choosing a university is quite hard and you know that, especially that of KSU and FULOKOJA. That’s why most students end up comparing both leading to noisy arguments and so on. Recently, I saw a group of student making claims that FULOKOJA is better than KSU while some opposed the motion. We all know that KSU and FULOKOJA are very competitive and you can’t argue that. That’s why I’ve chosen to write on this topic telling which is better between both. Before I proceed let me walk you through the meaning of KSU and FULOKOJA.
What is KSU?
Kogi State University, located at Anyigba, is the state-owned University of Kogi, Nigeria. It was established in 1999 by Prince Abubakar Audu, the former governor of the state.
What is FULOKOJA?
The Federal University Lokoja, popularly known as Fulokoja or by its acronym, FUL, is a federal university in the confluence city of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria. Lokoja lies at the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers.
Is KSU better than FULOKOJA?

FULOKOJA
Federal University, lokoja ranked 63rd in Nigeria and 7032nd in the World 2022 overall rankings, plus got ranked in quite a number of academic topics. Ranking for FULOKOJA is based on 3 factors: research performance (a proprietary algorithm evaluated 264 publications and 668 citations), non-academic reputation, and the impact of notable alumni.
From this you will find out that FULOKOJA is ranking better compared to KSU which gives them a higher ground in the aspect of ranking.
2 ASUU STRIKE
There are NO Federal Universities in Nigeria that is not under ASUU as of now, all Federal Universities are under ASUU. Even at such, KSU is also under ASUU that means both KSU and FULOKOJA are under the umbrella of asuu which makes them equal in the aspect of asuu strike.
3 SCHOOL FEES

The present school fees of the Kogi State University, Anyigba ranges from ₦57,500 to ₦100,000 for new students and ₦26,600 to ₦44,250 for old students.
FULOKOJA
The present school fees of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State is ₦61,340 for the new and ₦45,340 for old students.
From this you can see that KSU pays less which makes them have a upper hand in the aspect of school fees.
4 ADMISSION STYLE
FULOKOJA have large student bodies, students from different parts of the country with different backgrounds and religious beliefs are enrolled. This allows intakes to learn the lifestyle, behavior and values of different people. More or less Students in FULOKOJA become street smart and can adapt in almost any part of the country. While KSU are known for taking their indigenes first before others which leads to population of a certain trybe in a university. That means your chance of gaining admission in a FULOKOJA is higher compared to that of KSU which makes FULOKOJA take the lead. Now let’s move to the last aspect which is courses Offered.
5 COURSES OFFERED
KSU offeres a total of 56 courses while FULOKOJA offers a total of 21 courses which makes KSU take the lead. This brings us to the end of this article.
