PSG BLUNT WITHOUT MESSI AS THEY WERE HELD TO A GOALLESS DRAW

Despite having Sergio Ramos dismissed midway through the opening period, PSG held Stade de Reims to a scoreless draw. After Marseille’s loss earlier in the day, the champions remain the only unbeaten team in France’s top division as they extend their spotless Ligue 1 season start to 10 games. With a point that could have easily been three, Reims moves up to twelve.

Just before halftime, Sergio Ramos was dismissed from Paris St. Germain after receiving two cautions in one minute at Reims.

Prior to being fouled by teammate Marco Verrati and initially receiving a yellow card, Ramos attempted to clip Marshall Munetsi’s legs. However, as a result of his arguments, Ramos was eventually given a red card.

Given the lack of noteworthy chances generated while he was absent, Lionel Messi’s importance to the French champions was clearly demonstrated.

Both Kylian Mbappe, who started the game, and Neymar, who entered the game in the final third, had opportunities to score, but neither converted them. The former shot straight at Yehvann Diouf and the latter side-footed wide from blatant range.

Gianluigi Donnarumma kept them at bay for the majority of the game despite Reims having the superior overall look.

If Marseille and Monaco win their remaining games, they will be able to tie PSG for third place in the standings. With the point, Reims climbs to 12th.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Arber Zeneli (Reims) – The Kosovan international, who was born in Sweden, has struggled with serious injuries for the duration of the last few seasons, but he now has a clean bill of health and appears ready to showcase his skills at a higher level. Danilo Pereira, Fabian Ruiz, or Nordi Mukiele found him very challenging to manage on the right side of the PSG defense, and he might have scored the game-winning goal except for Donnarumma’s excellent save.
