Men are portrayed as being more affected, upset, and outraged when they discover they have been cheated on than women, according to the long-standing narrative around the subject of infidelity.
In our collective awareness, it’s quite simple like that. Due to the fact that “all men cheat” and “men will always be men,” the story leads us to believe that women somehow “expect” to be betrayed.
So, we have an unjust situation, a particularly annoying relationship dynamic that encourages women to forgive and move on when their men cheat while, on the other hand, validating men’s outrage and righteous wrath when they are betrayed.

2. Ego suffers a blow
Men view infidelity as an insult to their ego, as opposed to women, who become [inexplicably] ashamed and embarrassed when their partners cheat on them. Because they presumably consider being cheated on to be the ultimate kind of disrespect imaginable, it is even more difficult for them to accept it.
Because, well, males believe that respect is something that comes with being a man.

The purpose of this is not to support women’s infidelity or to imply that it is acceptable for men to experience infidelity. Hopefully, cheating is viewed as a problem that affects everyone equally. When played, both men and women suffer the same injuries. And anybody can lie. Everybody owes their spouse the obligation to be faithful and honest because anyone might be betrayed.
