WILL GARNACHO PLAY WORLD CUP?GARNACHO MISSES OUT FIFA 2022 DUE TO KNEE INJURY
Manchester United teenager Alejandro Garnacho has been left out of Argentina’s 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Due to a knee injury, Inter Milan striker Correa will not attend the Qatar Cup.
Manchester United’s 18-year-old winger Garnacho has been suggested as a potential replacement.
Atlanta United attacking midfielder Thiago Almada has been picked up by Lionel Scaloni.
Garnacho just scored an unbelievable goal to help the Reds beat Fulham 2-1 on November 13. The young winger passed the ball deftly with Christian Eriksen in the 90+3 minute before beating Bernd Leno in front of Fulham’s goal.
The football world has been captivated by his thrilling win, with many hailing Garnacho as the next United and Argentina superstar.
After scoring against the Cottagers, Garnacho coach Erik ten Hag congratulated him by saying:
“[His grades] were amazing.
“First of all, he shows the mindset you need. Under pressure, he shows, shows, has impact and has faith. “Twice in three or four days, amazing.”
The former Atletico Madrid youth product played for Manchester United in eight games and contributed one goal and three goals.
However, he was not called up at the last minute, so he will not be able to show his skills at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Almada, 21, is in fine form for Atlanta, contributing seven assists and seven goals in 31 MLS games.
In Qatar, where his side are among the contenders to win the FIFA World Cup, he will join Albiceleste.
They will start their campaign in Group C against Saudi Arabia on November 22.
The next two opponents of Scaloni’s army were Mexico on November 26 and Poland on November 30.
